SurgeX® Introduces the SEQ
Sequential Power Conditioner
PIPERSVILLE, Pennsylvania -- The SEQ Sequential power conditioner from SurgeX provides guaranteed surge protection and
power conditioning for up to 14 pieces of audio, video, broadcast and computer equipment. Of particular note is the new model's
ability to sequentially power up/down electronic devices in separate groups.
Housed in a rugged 2U metal chassis, the SEQ's rear panel features 14 standard grounded AC receptacles. These are divided
into three individual banks of four 120V outlets, plus two receptacles that are always on.
A Phoenix terminal block connector is also found on the rear of the unit, easily permitting remote control via momentary
switches, latching switches or applied voltage (5-30 VDC). Remote control inputs and outputs are protected against short-
circuit, overload and reversed polarity. Furthermore, the SEQ's programmable single isolated relay contact can be
used for confirmation or controlling other SurgeX units, while a programmable 12 VDC output provides 40
mA for multiple uses, such as driving LEDs.
The front panel of the SEQ is elegant in its simplicity. A backlit three-line LCD display indicates operating status
and AC line voltage. To its right are a single red push button for power and two small screwdriver holes - marked 'SEL' and 'ADJ'
- for making setup adjustments. All functions and time delays are programmable through easy-to-use interactive menus shown on the
LCD display, with all setup adjustments stored in non-volatile memory.
SurgeX's patented Series Mode® technology is superior to conventional MOV circuitry. It provides proven, reliable protection,
stopping multiple surges of up to 6,000 volts and unlimited surge current, without producing ground contamination.
SurgeX components meet the most stringent government purchase specifications for powerline surge
suppressors. Their A-1-1 rating assures both the contractor and client of dependable protection from destructive spikes,
surges and inductive transients.
Additional SEQ features:
- Rated for 20-amp use
- Utilizes the company's proprietary and advanced Impedance Tolerant® EMI/RFI filtering
- Incorporates Surgex ICE® Inrush Current Elimination® technology
- An infinite number of SEQ units can be cascaded to operate either simultaneously or in sequence
- Over-ride input can be programmed to shut unit down or force unit on when activated
- Optional brown-out detection shuts down A, B and C bank receptacles if line voltage varies outside limits set by the user
The SEQ carries a suggested U.S. retail price of $799.00.
